Understanding Life's Challenges- Embracing the Universe's Purpose: Shruti Joshi

A Question – Why did it happen to me?

Have you ever found yourself grappling with this profound inquiry? Do “you” also find yourself asking “why me” when faced with adversity or unexpected challenges?

It often feels unjust when we ponder, “I did not do anything wrong; why am I facing so many problems?” It can be disheartening to feel as though we are constantly striving to do good for others, yet somehow, we find ourselves treated unfairly or with disregard. The question lingers in our minds: “I always try to do good to others, but why do people treat me like this and so soon?”

This sense of betrayal or confusion can leave us feeling isolated and questioning our place in the world.

Moreover, we may adhere to our beliefs and practices, following them religiously, yet still wonder, “Why am I not in a good state?” It is natural to seek answers when we feel disconnected from the outcomes we desire. It’s important to take a step back and remind ourselves that it’s okay to feel this way; we must strive to stay calm amidst the turmoil.

The universe has created each of us for a reason, a purpose that may not always be immediately apparent. If we go against the natural flow of this universe, we may find that the conditions around us do not favour our growth or well-being. Unlike other living beings on this planet, which may lack the cognitive abilities to manipulate their circumstances, humans possess the unique capacity to use their intelligence to shape their reality according to personal choices and needs.

This power can be both a blessing and a curse, leading us to make decisions that may not always align with universal truths.

Humans often envision a life filled with familial bonds and a lasting legacy; however, the universe may have different plans for each of us. The universal principles of survival emphasise both interdependency and individuality. Just as in nature, where some creatures are born to be part of a herd, like deer or sheep, others are destined to be leaders, like lions. Each being is defined by its inherent abilities, characteristics, and capabilities, which shape its role in the grand tapestry of life.

Every living and non-living entity in the universe plays a role in the life cycle. This cycle is an ongoing process of survival, where each organism relies on the others in a delicate balance of giving and receiving. For instance, an employer depends on employees, just as employees rely on their employers. This interconnectedness is fundamental to the functioning of our world.

To grasp the intricacies of the universe, one may need to revisit these concepts multiple times, much like learning the strategies of a complex chess game. It is said that 70-80% of the lives of living beings revolve around the quest for food, leaving approximately 25% for other pursuits. This underscores the primal nature of existence and the importance of sustenance in our daily lives.

You might have heard of the food chain, a fundamental concept that illustrates our role in the ecosystem. We are all part of a cycle where living beings consume one another. The universe has a remarkable ability to transform, turning caterpillars into butterflies, oysters with grains of sand into pearls, and coal into diamonds, as noted by IAN Caldwell. This transformation is a testament to the potential for growth and change inherent in all living things.

Humans are composed of tiny crystals and particles, a reminder of our connection to the universe. Each individual is born in a specific location for a purpose, and every situation we encounter is a reflection of the universe’s design, not merely a random occurrence.

If you find yourself in a challenging situation, it may indicate that the universe is engaging in a game of chess with you, testing your abilities and resilience. The universe is aware of your capacity to survive and thrive, and this awareness underscores the belief that you are here for a significant reason.

As human beings, our bodies eventually dissolve into elements and are consumed by enzymes. We exist as omnivores, relying on a variety of food sources, including plants and animals. Reptiles and numerous other creatures consume worms, which in turn feed on plants; plants derive their sustenance from the earth.

The earth itself, along with the universe, comprises essential elements such as air, water, soil, plants, fire, space, and clouds—each playing a crucial role in sustaining life. The sun, made of particles, nourishes the earth, which is uniquely suited to support life in its myriad forms.
