Kitchen Garden Project at PGEMS, Loni

Loni, August 21, 2026: As part of its commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable living, Pravara Girls English Medium School (PGEMS), Loni, organised a Kitchen Garden Project on The initiative provided students with an opportunity to learn about organic farming through hands-on participation.

The activity was conducted in the presence of Mr Randhe, Kendrapramukh, Loni Cluster; Mr Gorakshnath Chavan, Kendra Mukhyadhyapak, Loni; and Mr Sarjerao Ghodke, Panchayat Samiti, Education Department, Rahata, along with the PGEMS staff.

The project aimed to nurture environmental responsibility among students while introducing them to the importance of growing fresh and healthy food. Through practical gardening activities, students learned about organic farming, healthy eating habits, sustainable practices, and the need to conserve the environment.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Renu Patil said that the project aims to inculcate the importance of organic farming, healthy eating, and environmental conservation among students. The activity encouraged students to understand that even small efforts, when taken collectively, can contribute to a healthier and greener future.

The Kitchen Garden Project received appreciation and support from Dr Susmita Vikhe Patil, CEO, Pravara Rural Education Society; Mrs Leelavati Sarode, Director, School Education; and Dr Pradeep Dighe, Director, Higher Education and Non-Technical Department.

The initiative reflects PGEMS's efforts to provide students with meaningful, experiential learning while fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature. With their small hands nurturing plants today, the students are taking meaningful steps towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
